Appearance: An interesting deep reddish brown.
Louche: attractive and thick. A tangerine orange color.
Aroma: herbal and sweet with hints of citrus and rose
Flavor/mouthfeel: Typical flavors of absinthe with sweet anise and slight wormwood astringency. The roses add a unique and intriguing floral and citrussy flavor. I'm not sure if it goes well with the anise yet, but I'm not put off by it either.
Finish: more traditional flavors on the back end and finish. Lingers nicely with just hints of rose and citrus.
Overall: Intriguing. It's definitely an absinthe, but it's definitely got a twist. It will be enjoyable for some, and off-putting for hardcore traditionalists. I enjoy it well enough, and I'm very happy to have bought this bottle, but I don't know if I'd buy another.
