Strong alcoholic liqueur made with herbal extracts, the main herb being wormwood. An emerald green drink with a distinctive taste. Manufactured according to the original French recipe with 70% alc. vol. and a production method that has been improved in excess of today's required standards. All the essential ingredients are carefully selected and processed to ensure the unique taste of Absinthe. Expressive taste and characteristic cloudy effect make this drink one of the best Absinthes on today's market. Contains 10 mg/kg of thujone. A genuine product with the original Czech label.

Whoa

This is about as close as I've come to the worst tasting 'absinth' I've ever tried. Compared to this, most anything would be appetizing.

A Classic Cocktail

Sazerac (Waldorf-Astoria)

Add to iced tumbler, shake and strain into a cocktail glass:
 
2 dashes of Peychaud Bitters
1 dash absinthe
1 dash Italian vermouth
1 jigger bourbon or Scotch

Ed. note: The recipe given in The Old Waldorf-Astoria Bar Book differs from both the original and traditional New Orleans recipes.  The former calls for cognac,  Peychaud's Bitters and sugar.   The latter calls for rye whiskey in place of the cognac, a rinse of absinthe, Peychaud's Bitters and sugar. ~ Hiram
