A Classic Cocktail

Morning Glory No. II

1 1/2 oz rye whiskey or bourbon whiskey
2 bar spoons gomme syrup
2 bar spoons Curaçao
1 1/2 oz cognac
1 bar spoons orange bitters or Angostura bitters
2 bar spoons absinthe or Pernod

Stir with ice. Strain into a rocks glass. Top with 1/4 oz club soda. Garnish with a lemon twist.
